Ten-year-old Michael Behrens has taken up the fight against cancer following news that his grandmother had very sadly been diagnosed with a terminal condition. The brave Bli Bli State School student is aiming to raise as much money as possible selling different coloured awareness ribbons representing the various cancers that impact on so many Australian lives – a concept he developed himself. He is busily selling the ribbons as well as raffle tickets for a quilt hand-made by his beloved Nan at school and aims to set up table outside White’s Supa IGA in Bli Bli to continue the cause.
